humble abode

Notice the fully landscaped backyard. At least that's what they call the rocks here.

Well we are moving... again. This makes 7 moves in less than 5 years. That is pretty good! lol Anyway we are excited to move to our new place across town. Benson already painted his own room a lovely shade of blue, and we will move in next week to enjoy it all. If anyone (MEGAN!:) has any good boy room decorating tips lemme know.

That looks so great! How awesome! I am so glad you posted pictures and I hope that there will be lots more coming!

Not that I know anything about decorating, but here is my whopping two cents...

Start with Mr. Benson himself. What's that boy all about? The best rooms are ones that really reflect the individual's personality and needs. Themes are a blast, but remember to keep the "permanent" things neutral so that when your kids grow out of that theme, it's easy to update.

Pottery Barn always has great ideas... especially for kids. And the good people at Target love to knock off their designs and sell them for less- God bless them! :) I just find something I really love and then try to pull together my own (cheaper) version. It's amazing what you can do with a little bit of fabric and some spray paint! :) I can't wait to see what you come up with! You are SO talented, Carrie!

i have an idea. i'm framing pages from "where the wild things are" matted in 12x12 frames for nate, who isn't really a boy, but i think it's a pretty applicable idea for a little boy's room too. any book would probably do.

Looks like a nice place! Moving is a pain, but it can also be so exciting I think! Why are you moving? Military wanted you to upgrade? Just curious! I'll bet you'll do a great job in the boy's rooms! Good luck with everything!

I think your following our lead on the moving too. We moved 7 times in our first year! We have moved a total of 14 times in 7 years. Isn't moving fun. In fact I am getting a little anxious because we aren't moving. You place looks cute. Did you buy? So fun that you get to decorate.
