heeeeeelp meeeeeee

Benson wakes up 15 times a night now and comes into our room and asks for a drink/is it morning/I need to go potty/etc. Then he wakes up for real at about 6 and asks every 3 minutes if it is morning yet. This is not going over well with the parents, plus he wakes up Banks, plus he is tired and cranky all day because he is not getting enough sleep. He usually takes a 1.5 hour nap during the day (which we tried going without but he is like the spawn of you know who by 5pm) and goes to bed at around 8:30. Does this happen to anyone else? Someone save us because we are dangerous folks with no sleep.

Oh dear Carrie, I think I would loose what's left of my sanity if I had my child doing this. This happens to my sister a lot . . . I'll ask her what she does, but I have a feeling she hasn't had a lot of success either. Maybe you could put a small cup of very little water next to his bed at night and explain to him that he can get a drink without waking you now. Make it a big boy thing for him. Even better, show him that daddy does it to (even if you have to fake that daddy does the same thing). Sorry--no sleep is the worst.

Yeah that sounds miserable. I wish I had ideas, but I haven't thought of any yet. Give me a few years and I will get back to you...hehe...no I hope you find something that works. Good luck sista!

in-the-middle-of-the-night/ (all hooked together.) try reading this webpage... I googled the problem for ya. Also, just a thought, try talking to your pediatrician... they might have good suggestions. But that article was interesting and I think you'll find it helpful.

Hey Carrie. That is so not fun when they are up all night! We have had times like these. There are times that we have had to just lock them in their rooms and take away their freedom to come out. I know that probably sounds really mean, but it worked. And it was only short term. Another thing that we currently do. We have a clock in the girls room and they can't come out of their room until it says 7:00. It helps them to know when it's ok to come out. Glad that Bensen is feeling better. Good luck!!

we had these issues with haley. What worked for me was telling her everything we are going to do the next day, ONLY if she slept in her big girl bed and didnt get up. Her and maddy share a room so it was hard for a while but it works now. Also she gets a sticker on her chart if she does it. hope that helps a little.

So, I have no useful info for you. I know how you feel though! It seems like it was just a few months ago Emma and Tanner started swapping roles. Tanner was my good sleeper, and now it's Emma. Honestly, I don't get it. I think I'm going to check out your sister's researching though...sounds interesting. Also, know you're not alone in the department of "I'm going to lose my mind soon if my kid doesn't stop that". Yeah, it's a long department, but you're not alone :)

We had that problem, but not nearly to that extent, a few months ago. Skyler just always wanted to come in and lie down with us. We'd just take him back in his room and eventually he'd quit it. Skyler also takes a sippy cup to bed with him, so no asking for water from him. Skyler was also waking up ridiculously early because he didn't want to miss Word World that is on PBS at 7am. Once we started telling him we'd tape it for him, he started sleeping a bit later. Maybe there is some strange reason that Benson is wanting to wake up so early?

And Skyler is pretty much the span of you know who each day starting at around five. Earlier if I'm lucky. It's fun. You have my sympathy with that.

Jett comes into our room screaming for a freakin BOTTLE, he's 22 months! And we want him to just SHUT up and NOT wake up Bryton, so we just give it to him, we don't know how we're gonna break this. IT sucks!
