prima ballerina

I just wanted to write this post to encourage everyone to do something they love. I am an old woman with children now but I love to dance and last night I started taking ballet lessons again. I'm constantly doing things I love (ie being a wife and mom) but taking time to do something that brings the pre-wife/mom me back really makes me a different person. I love feeling like I still have my own interests and passions and dance is one of those things that brings out that side in me. I'm not a great dancer by any means, but I truly love it and I think that's what matters. So whatever brings out the sparkle in you, my challenge today is remember that thing and do it.

Carrie, you are soooo pretty in your ballerina ensemble! I really admire you for keeping up such a sweet talent. I feel like such a goof dancing next to you. Good job tiny dancer!

How fun!! You look gorgeous in your leo. & you're so SKINNY!! I would love to do something like that. Do you feel as limber as when you were younger? Because I try to stretch & I am stiff as can be now. So sad.

I love the owl back pack. SO cute. Don't you love Martha? Such a fun idea. You should have an etsy shop. It seems like you're always making something new & cute.

that picture of you is GORGEOUS. and this post was so sweetly inspiring. is it bad that i think that because i don't have kids or a job that i don't deserve to have any fun these days?

I love you, Carrie. You inspire me in so many ways.

To answer the questions (in case you come back):

Jessica- NO WAY! I'm not even remotely limber. hahhaha it's pretty funny but it will only take a few months to get it back so I just have to look pathetic until then.

Becca- Yes that is bad. :) You definitely deserve to have oodles of fun and all the more just because you feel like you don't. Do fun stuff and the blog about it so I can be excited for you! Not to mention that after you get a job (or a kid) you will be sad that you didn't have more fun when you had more time.

you have inspired me!

I think this is so great! It really has made me think I should get into a water coloring class or something else. I think doing something like this for you is the best thing you can do as a mom and wife. Your great. -Suz

Way to go Carrie! I too think it is important to do things that are for "just me" once is awhile. It brings new inspiration and energy to your life as well as infuses relationships with something exciting to share and connect to.
Plus with all those boys in your life, the house needs a ballerina to keep things in check!

Just so you know, that really was Joel's comment. I had no idea he commented until just now! BUT...I totally agree. It's great that you have passions that keep you feeling like you and that you have a husband that supports that. My problem is trying to think of passion or anything I'd like to start. You can only do so much with acting when you're pregnant :) I'll think of something.

coming back to this one: great hair, bangs included of course, great back and great photo! it could be in the jacket of a good novel. write one and use that as your author photo. lovely.
