DSC_4142.jpg
We are trying to take a family picture every month this year, as opposed to last year when we took maybe one. January's attempt obviously leaves only room for improvement this month.

This post is unrelated to the picture. Just so you don't get confused.

Don't you hate it when you think all the way through some conundrum and then forget you thought it all the way through and bring it up with someone then sound like a moron because it had an obvious answer and you knew it but you forgot you knew it?

Example:
Me: Hey, sister-in-law... I'm now going to give you this super long-whiney explanation as to why I'd like you to babysit Roman on Tuesday... not sure why I feel the need to whiney-ask because I know you'd say yes if I just asked normally but I can't fight the urge so... please please please!!

Sister-in-law: Well you know I would but did we not establish like 10 minutes ago that I am going out of town tomorrow and won't be back all week?

Me: Ohhhh yeaaaaah! So THAT'S why I felt all hesitant to bring up the babysitting! And yes, I do pay attention to what you say, and I already had this whole conversation with myself in my head. So sorry. Carry on.

This happens to me daily. If only I could remember my inner dialogues! Does this happen to anyone else?

I totally support the year of fam pics! Gma wanted one of us and I was sort of sad that we haven't taken once since last year when the babe was all small and such. And noooow that we have a spiffy new camera...we'll have to figure out how to work it and then possibly go buy a remote...so maybe in a few months we'll get another picture. before i get too fat.

And I always forget my inner dialogues. and then say something dumb. and then feel even more stupid because i had come to that exact same result in my head.

what a great idea to take a family pic each month. keep em coming!
Your photographs never disappoint, despite what you may think.

I liked your story, and sometimes that kind of think happens to me too.

I'll babysit Roman on Tuesday!
if only, if only...

I can't wait to see all the family pictures! And I have to say that I REALLY like Banks' hair. Looks so good - makes him look grown up and cool cute.

I know how you feel, at times my brain and mouth don't work together. :)

You are so pretty! If this improves from month to month i will require some beauty secrets with each post please. I have these conversations from time to time and it's hard for me to not over do it immediately after with the person just so they know I really have a brain. My over doing though probably has the opposite effect. Oh man.

Banks is looking so big! I remember him as that little, tiny boy that we would play with at our house. Cute family!

Oh boy does it. My inner dialogue that makes sense is when I am laying in bed at night. Then I screw it all up and have to figure everything out again the following days. Ugh. I wish I would just not be lazy and write it all down, but no. Isn't life funny? And I totally love your doing a family pic every month idea. I might have to copy you!

Nope. Never. Wait, that was a lie. I do it all the time.

And really, you look gorgeous. I don't know if I can support the monthly family photos for personal reasons (i.e., you might be giving me a complex). Please listen to Stephanie and include beauty secrets. Thanks.

I can't remember anything these days but I have old age for an excuse, ha! Now what was I saying? Oh yeah, and love the pic. So hilariously-typically-real family. Ahhhh, you really can capture the moment. Love you!!!

happens to me all the time and I can so hear you saying what you did, with a cute giggle.

Okay, my husband looks like this in every family photo we have, I think. He refuses to smile unless he feels genuinely happy, and guess what? He hates to have his picture taken.

j/k.....that was pretty funny though, and for the record....I would have MUCH rather babysitted my crying nephew than been on my 2 week sabatical.....just for the record
