Doesn't Roman's hair look like a toupee? That kid has SO MUCH hair!
Sometimes, just for a brief moment, I forget what I'm doing here. I'm not furthering a career, I'm not biding my time until all the kids are gone and I can do my own things. I really believe I am doing the most important work of my life right this minute, and when I remember that I truly love my life. I saw this magazine on Design Mom today and this quote from there struck me to the core:
Our lives are the sum
Of each moment and interaction.
Each day we work, eat, laugh, teach, play, read, remember...
And work at it all again the next day.
Within seemingly small moments we find opportunity
To build relationships, develop character, find joy
For the price of our time.
Life's most essential possibilities are realized at home.
Where we share, teach, grow, learn, serve, give
Our best without praise or fanfare.
Because every effort, every moment matters
In the development of a person.
Nothing is really routine.
-Seeing The Everyday
What a true and beautiful statement.

Thanks for sharing this. I often get bogged down in "routines". And you're right, what we are doing is the most important work of our lives!
What a classic picture of motherhood to go along with a beautiful quote! You are gorgeous! So is Roman's wig :)
I strive to be more like you friend.
Nice reminder Carrie.
What a nice thought. I need to try to remember that.
I think Roman would be a good model for infant-type products. His hair is so outrageous that people would think he's wearing a wig.
Hey, I'm SO happy you understand it. You get it! Yay! And when it is all said and done you can look back with no regrets (well, I suppose there are always a couple out there - Ha!). I'm proud of you, Sweetheart!
thanks for sharing! I'm struggling with this very concept myself right now...but I keep trying to remind myself that being a mom is #1 and the rest can just wait. I'm busy. :D
Um and slap a tie on that baby and take some pics because BABY WINDSOR NEEEEEDS YOUUUUU!!! And your other two sweeties as well! Do I need to make them ties? I'll send a few with dad, how bout that?
I thought I was off the hook! hahaha Ben saw your comment and did some while I was sleeping this morning. I'll send you some of the decent ones, but we'll reshoot with the style director awake. :)
Ok seriously, adorable picture, and thank you for sharing. I really think all moms need to be reminded of the importance of their work. Um can you please move closer so we can hang out. You really are awesome.
