Little Banksy surprised us all yesterday by counting to 11! It really is miraculous how children will eventually learn the necessities of life without coaching. Really, I didn't believe that with Benson, but it's very much the truth. Except for that Banks still thinks every color is black. Ak! See?! Take my own advice! He'll figure his colors out before he really needs to know them.
Anyway.
Seeing as how he counts to 11 on a regular basis now it makes me think that in just 1 short number he'll be able to sing and count to this, my favorite Sesame Street ditty ever:
Isn't that the best? I also loved those little aliens who went Yiiip yipyipyipyip AhHuh Ahuh (uh, did that make sense to anyone?). What's your favorite Sesame Street memory?

i cant remember my favorite sesame street memory of the show, but i do remember when i was like four, i was watching the show and my mom sat down next to me and watched it. i am sure she did this before and did i after that day, but i remember thinking it was really cool that she watched it with me. so, even though it is way easier to bounce around the house getting stuff done while the TV babysits ambrose- i try and hold him and talk to him here and there as he watches it. mostly because of that memory. :)
i love that one, too. my favorite, though, is captain vegetable, which i've linked from my blog before (a couple of times, i think) and i think it's awesome. i also really like the fly in the soup one.
i loved the inch worms. Mostly, they never came on so it was really exciting when they did--same with the little twitter bugs that lived in a box. Those were the best!
Oh my goodness! I remember the ladybugs! I loved The Street. :) I always liked Oscar. Weren't you just dying to know what it looked like inside that garbage can? Maybe that's where my flea market, junk-loving started! Ha!
Carrie, hyrum started doing the same thing, it's so cute. I'm sure Banksie is talking a lot now . . . I can't believe the phrases Hyrum is putting together and the sense he seems to make of his world. hey, I was wondering if you could find a minute to send me your chicken salad recipe. I have EVERYTHING in storage and would like to make those pitas tomorrow! Thanks! And, your nephew is just gorgeous.
this is one of mine but i also love the other counting with the ball rolling around the maze or ball shoot or i don't know exactly what to call it.
Yay Banks!!!! That is so awesome. Have we mentioned how excited we are to see you in 2 months!!!!!! We seriously can't wait.
way to go banks. That means he has awesome parents who talk to him a lot.
